Join CNPF in Chicago!

Join Us in Sweet Home Chicago (that toddlin' town) for four days and three nights of theatre, food and camaraderie November 12 - 15, 2026.

Thursday evening we will be treated to Steppenwolf Theatre’s world premiere production of Adirondack Chair Circle by Stephanie Alison Walker which was written, developed and read at the 2026 Colorado New Play Festival!  We will follow the show with a cocktail and conversation with playwright Stephanie Alison Walker at Steppenwolf’s Front Bar, the artistic hub for the local theatre community.

Friday morning you will have free time to shop the Magnificent Mile, tour the Art Institute of Chicago or Field Museum, or wander the grounds of the new Obama Center.  The afternoon will have our coach whisk us away to Northlight Theatre in Evanston where Artistic Director BJ Jones will give us a personal tour of his brand-new theatre complex. Then just steps away from the theatre’s back entrance we’ll dine at The Barn Steakhouse that boasts a wide-ranging menu of the freshest, top-quality ingredients available anywhere followed by seeing the world premiere production of Lauren M. Gunderson’s All The World.

Saturday, your morning could include brunch in our neighborhood before our tour on float your boat – the famed Chicago River Architectural Boat Tour!  Saturday evening you will have dinner in a restaurant of your choosing (we’ll provide recommendations if you like) before taking in the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Sunday has us flying home with memories of great theatre in “our kinda’ town.”

Our accommodations will be at the 4-star Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago located in the heart of the city on Chicago's Magnificent Mile where its 27th floor rooftop bar provides panoramic city views. You may also choose your own accommodations in a similar location.
 
The cost for our Chicago Theatre Tour is $1500 per person based on double occupancy with $250 designated as a tax-deductible donation to the Colorado New Play Festival or $1000 per person without hotel.
