Lori is an advocate for the American theater and serves on the board of trustees for the Lark Play Development Center in New York City. In that capacity she served on the Global Initiatives Task Force and currently on the Funds Development Committee. She has been involved in producing new work as a producing partner and is co Executive Producer of the Colorado New Play Festival in Steamboat Springs.
Lori has been an ardent supporter of numerous human rights organizations. With the International Rescue Committee she has worked as a mentor to newly arrived refugee families, helping them navigate the daunting tasks of resettlement in the United States. She has also been a member of the Advisory Council and on the Speaker’s Bureau for advocacy and worked on Anti-Human Trafficking Campaigns. She currently sits on the newly formed National Committee on Refugee Resettlement. She has taught art therapy photography classes for survivors of genocide and victims of torture. As a photographer she has served on the board of the Arizona Highways Photography Workshops and led numerous workshops and tours throughout the United States and Africa.
