Lori Steinberg

Director of New American Voices

Lori is an advocate for the American theater and serves on the board of trustees for Tectonic Theatre Company; and previously served as a trustee of The Lark Play Development Center in New York City. She is also involved with the Druid Theatre Fuel New Play Program. She has been involved in producing new work as a producing partner and has been with the Colorado New Play Festival for over ten years.

Lori has been an ardent supporter of numerous human rights organizations. With the International Rescue Committee, she has worked as a mentor to newly arrived refugee families, helping them navigate the daunting tasks of resettlement in the United States. She has also been a member of the Advisory Council and on the Speaker’s Bureau for advocacy and worked on Anti-Human Trafficking Campaigns. She has taught art therapy photography classes for survivors of genocide and victims of torture. As a photographer, she has served on the Arizona Highways Foundation board and has led numerous workshops and tours with her husband throughout North America and Africa.
